Today, there are many competing Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) technologies such as radios, microcontrollers, and network protocols, sensors, and power sources. Sorting through all of this is an enormous task and companies make claims that cannot be verified without expensiveand time-consuming testing.

In order to better analyze the power and performance needs of individual nodes in specific applications, ON World created the wsnSimulator™.  This simulator interchanges WSN node hardware components, payloads, processors, sensors, harvesters, and batteries while factoring in unique operational parameters for each of the fore mentioned parts. Using this tool, companies can reduce the number of technologies that need to evaluated, saving them time and money. For startups, suppliers, and vendors, the wsnSimulator™ provides verification and validation of your technology's differentiators.

The wsnSimulator™ normalizes complex WSN applications (e.g. transmission rate, payload, and attached sensors) in order to compare the power consumption and performance characteristics of end nodes, routers, and controllers. This tool runs these virtual hardware nodes within one of several WSN networks such as CSMA, TDMA, Sampled Listening, ZigBee, Bluetooth, WiFi and EnOcean.

The wsnSimulator™ factors in neighborhood nodes and overlapping networks to analyze transmission collisions, latency, and dropped packets among other network factors. With this tool we have the capability of simulating advanced multi thousand node WSN deployments as well as single node controllers, gateways and end nodes.
